North Ferriby United is pleased to be supporting local charity Hull Homeless Outreach in a World Record Attempt.
The charity is hoping to beat the world record for the most items of footwear in one place at one time.
It is intended to display around 25,000, or more, items of footwear at the KCOM Stadium in June. The event will be part of a Family Fun Day. After the event at the KCOM Stadium, the footwear will be distributed to the homeless and other charities so none will be wasted.
The Villagers are asking fans and supporters to bring any old or unwanted footwear to the remaining First team games of the season, starting with this Saturday’s match against Worcester City. The club will then pass them on to the charity.
Hull Homeless Outreach supports homeless through the provision of clothing and personal items plus providing hot meals on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at St Mary’s Church on Lowgate in Hull city centre.
The Villagers’ Press Officer, Phil Withers commented,
“The number of homeless people is greater than many people realise and we are delighted to be helping Hull homeless Outreach. The charity is wholly run by volunteers and it gives much needed help to people in need.
“We hope our supporters will back this worthwhile cause.”
